On June 11, 2020 the Louisville Metro Council voted to ban no-knock warrants in Louisville, Kentucky. All 26 council members co-sponsored the ordinance, which they called "Breonna's Law".
At the state level, Oregon and Florida are the only states to ban no-knock, forcible-entry raids.
Like the case of Breoona Taylor, these raids often lead to deaths of innocent people. According to the Cato Institute in Washington, D.C. forty bystanders have been killed since the early 1980s.
